Why do rescues have adoption fees? 
What does it cover?

Wellness exam: $58-$100

Rabies shot: $25

Heartworm test (dog): $48

Heartworm preventatives: $10/month

Flea/tick preventatives: $20/month

Neuter: $200-$600

Spay: $500-$800

Basic vaccines: $25-$45

Fecal sample: $50

Microchips: $12-$75

Dewormer: $35-$40

URI meds (cats): $25-$57

Dog food: $65/bag

Cat food: $20/bag

Litter: $14/box

Everything you see listed are expenses we have per animal we bring in. That does not include emergency or unexpected vet bills. Also transport expenses vary based on where the animal is coming from. This is just a general and basic view of what goes into each animal and what the adoption fees (partially) cover.  

Adoption fees are broken down as followed:

Cat/kitten that is already fixed

Cat/kitten not fixed yet

$175 + $25 spay/neuter deposit that is reimbursed after procedure is done

Dog/puppy that is already fixed

Dog/puppy not fixed yet

$450 + $50 spay/neuter deposit that is reimbursed after procedure is done
